In addition to using press releases, here are some other effective marketing strategies to consider for promoting your new book:
Social Media Marketing
- Author Platform: Create and maintain active profiles on major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok). Regularly post updates, engage with your audience, and share content related to your book.
- Hashtags: Use relevant hashtags to increase the visibility of your posts and connect with readers who share similar interests.
- Collaborations: Partner with influencers, bloggers, and bookstagrammers to promote your book. They can review your book, host giveaways, or feature you in their content.
- Supporting other authors: When you see a post by a fellow ShelteringTree.Earth author, Like and Share. If you've read the book, you may add a line or two of praise in the comment section.
Content Marketing
- Blogging: Start a blog to share insights about your writing process, themes in your book, and related topics. This can help build a loyal readership.
- Guest Posts: Write guest posts for popular blogs and websites in your genre. This can help you reach a wider audience. (I would be happy to post an article from one of ShelteringTree.Earth's authors or illustrators on this blog! Contact me below!)
- Videos and Podcasts: Create videos or podcasts to discuss your book, share behind-the-scenes content, or conduct interviews with other authors and experts. Remember - ShelteringTree.Earth interviews their authors in the Authors in the Shade podcast series. If you need help creating your own, just contact Cara Evelyn.
Book Launch Events
- Virtual Events: Host virtual book launch events on platforms like Zoom, Facebook Live, or YouTube Live. Include readings, Q&A sessions, and interactive activities.
- In-Person Events: Arrange book signings, readings, and discussions at local bookstores, libraries, and community centers. Contact Award-winning author Tif E. Boots for great advice on how to do this.
Book Reviews
- Review Copies: Contact book reviewers, bloggers, and influencers and offer them a copy of your book. Some prefer pdf's, others want credit for Kindle, while a few still ask for paperback copies. Encourage them to post honest reviews on platforms like Goodreads, Amazon, and their own blogs.
- Review Platforms: Leverage review platforms like NetGalley to get your book in front of reviewers and librarians.
- Write reviews of fellow authors' books and post them here on Sheltering Tree Media! Ask them to do the same.
Email Marketing
- Newsletter: Build an email list and send regular newsletters to your subscribers. Include updates about your book, exclusive content, and special offers.
- Engagement: Encourage subscribers to forward your emails to friends and family. Offer incentives for referrals and for reviews. If you would like to offer discounts on your books through ShelteringTreeMedia's shop, just contact Cara Evelyn and she'll set that up for you.
Paid Advertising
- Social Media Ads: Run targeted ads on social media platforms to reach potential readers based on their interests and demographics.
- Google Ads: Use Google Ads to promote your book in search results and on relevant websites.
- Book Promotion Services: Consider using book promotion services like BookBub, which can help you reach a large audience of avid readers.
- Remember you can go through ShelteringTreeMedia to set up family-friendly ad campaigns. This is open to any author whether your publisher is ShelteringTree.Earth or not.
Community Engagement
- Book Clubs: Reach out to book clubs and offer to participate in discussions about your book. Each book publisher through ShelteringTree.Earth has a discussion guide inside! So the hard part - developing a list of questions - is already done. Plus, you can offer them discounted prices through the shop plus you can have Cara Evelyn create book club specific coupons.
- Workshops and Speaking Engagements: Host workshops or give talks at schools, businesses, religious organizations, and service clubs to share your expertise and promote your book.
- Local Media: Reach out to local newspapers, radio stations, and TV channels to secure interviews and coverage about your book.
Networking
- Author Networks: Join author networks and writing groups to connect with fellow authors, share experiences, and support each other's promotional efforts. Don't forget Sheltering Tree Media's monthly writers' group.
- Conferences and Festivals: Attend literary conferences and book festivals to network with industry professionals, participate in panels, and promote your book. Ask Cara Evelyn to write you an introductory letter of recommendation.
- Get to know the ShelteringTree.Earth authors. Make sure they are the frontline of your network. Find more about each author here.
By implementing a combination of these strategies, you can effectively market your book and reach a wider audience. Happy promoting!
